• Providing high-quality operational and professional leadership in support of the Faculty Leader, including helping to monitor standards, model excellent practice, support colleagues and contribute to departmental improvement planning.
• Playing an active role in developing the leadership capacity of the Academy by contributing to whole-school priorities, supporting quality assurance processes and promoting a culture of high expectations, inclusion and professional growth.
• Supporting the development and implementation of a coherent, challenging and inclusive Humanities curriculum that enables students of all abilities to make strong progress and develop a secure understanding of the subjects within the faculty.
• Using assessment information intelligently to identify strengths, address underperformance and help ensure that intervention strategies are effective in raising achievement and closing gaps for disadvantaged and vulnerable learners.
• Supporting and coaching colleagues within the faculty to sustain high-quality teaching, effective behaviour for learning and strong subject knowledge, and contributing to the induction and development of staff where appropriate.
As a teacher and leader, you will bring strong subject knowledge across Humanities, a proven track record of excellent classroom practice and a clear commitment to securing the best possible outcomes for all students. You will be able to inspire confidence in colleagues and students alike, demonstrate high professional standards and show the capacity to contribute meaningfully to curriculum innovation, staff development and departmental improvement. The successful candidate will be committed to inclusive practice, ambitious for every learner and eager to play a full part in the wider life of the Academy.
What We Are Looking For
You will be a highly motivated professional who enjoys working as part of a high-performing team. You will be committed to helping young people succeed and will have a strong understanding of the importance of attendance, behaviour, safeguarding and inclusive pastoral support in securing positive outcomes for students. You will be calm, resilient and solution-focused, with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
You will share the Academy’s commitment to high expectations, inclusive education and continuous improvement, and will be eager to contribute to the wider life of the school.
